Toyota affirms this machine, created with Europe-based Toyota Motorsport Gmbh, is a concept, but it sure seems a lot like a completed GT4 car to us. In-depth specs were actually not supplied, but the concept uses the same standard 3.0-liter single-turbo straight-six engine as the manufacturing Supra, together with all the essential race-specific components which include a roll cage, adjustable suspension, upgraded brakes, and a severe wing.
GT4 is an excellent global racing series, permitting privateer racers to get a completely ready-to-run racing version of one of the numerous performance cars. With the new Supra already existing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and programs to contend in this year’s Nurburgring 24 and the 2020 time of year of Japan’s Super GT racing series, taking the coupe to GT4 appears like a reasonable move.
We believe the new Supra would look great lined up from GT4 competitors from Porsche, BMW, McLaren and much more. Simply because, like I said, everything appears far better as a race car.
